SuperSpeed SuperCache v3.0.3.0

SuperCache breaks the disk I/O bottleneck by using the computer's RAM
to hold or contain the most frequently used disk data. This 'container' is referred to as a cache. With SuperCache, as a program sends and receives disk data, the most frequently used data is read from and written to RAM – not the hard drive – thus accelerating the program's performance. SuperCache implements our patented block-level cache technology to increase performance above that of the operating system’s file-level cache.


SuperCache is an excellent choice for these scenarios:

1. The data files are larger than available physical memory.
2. The data files are located on a disk partition or disk volume that is too large to fit into available physical memory, and cannot be moved to one where they will fit. (For example: Dragon Naturally Speaking v7.3 cannot be configured to place its data on a different drive.)
3. Minimum risk of lost data.

Unlike our RamDisk or SuperVolume products not all the data will be available in RAM all the time. Some will come from the hard drive. Nonetheless, depending upon the size of the cache and the nature of the disk I/O demands, performance accelerations can be significant and often dramatic.

Deferred-write mode

By enabling its lazy-write mechanism, SuperCache can also accelerate writing data to disk. This mechanism delays writes to the hard drive. This can 'smooth out' I/O activity on the hard drive. It is important to note that enabling lazy-write increases the risk of data loss in the event of a system crash or power failure. SuperSpeed Software recommends that enabling the lazy-write feature ONLY on systems equipped with an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).

SuperCache can be used to cache an entire system drive (e.g. drive C:) including the system pagefile. SuperCache is the appropriate choice when a particular program (e.g. database, game, etc.) needs to access very large amounts data.

Support for NUMA

Windows XP x64 provides special support for machines with a non-uniform memory architecture (NUMA). When active on such platforms, the memory manager for SuperCache 3 examines the processor and memory affinities reported by Windows and the ACPI SRAT, and then optimizes physical memory allocations across the described NUMA nodes. The NUMA support in SuperCache 3 greatly improves the speed of memory allocations and equalizes the distribution of cache allocations among the NUMA nodes. Currently, NUMA support does not include the ability to build caches on specific nodes.

5. Invisible Containers (DriveCrypt standard edition only)
The DriveCrypt Standard edition has the ability to create an INVISIBLE disk INSIDE a container or partition. This way you define two passwords for a container. The invisible disks password gives you access to your working disk, which is hidden in the unused area of your "outer" disk, while another password gives you access to the pre-setup DriveCrypt volume in which you only store data that you would want others to believe is the only data in the container or partition. This is very useful in cases where an aggressor may force you to reveal the DriveCrypt disk's password: By revealing the password of the first or "outer" disk, the aggressor will ONLY see the "prepared data": IE data you put in there, before creating the hidden disk, while he will not be able to see or get evidence that there is another invisible container that securely stores confidential data on the disk.

DRIVECRYPT provides an automatic and/or manual lock-out feature that locks out the user's console and displays a password-protected screen saver. This lock-out functionality can be activated manually or automatically after a specified period of computer inactivity. The computer remains secure even when left unattended. To restore the screen and unlock the keyboard, the password for the current user or Master Password must be entered.

DRIVECRYPT allows you to wipe the free space on a disk.

R-Crypto is an easy-to-use system utility that protects your confidential information and personal data on a desktop, notebook, or a removable data storage device against unauthorized access.

R-Crypto protects the data by creating encrypted on-the-fly virtual disks (virtual data storage devices). That means that the data is being automatically encrypted just before it is being written to the disk and is being automatically decrypted right after it is being read from the disk without user intervention. That is the data is being encrypted and decrypted in real time and fully transparently to the user. All data (such as file and folder names, and content of all files) stored on such disks is constantly encrypted. The access to data on the virtual encrypted disk is impossible unless the user provides a correct password. At the same time, all operations for connected virtual encrypted disks do not differ from those for conventional ones.
All data of the encrypted virtual disk is stored together with disk metadata in a file-container. That means that such disk is actually an ordinary file that can be stored on any data storage device, be it a hard drive, USB-disk, CD, DVD, or a network resource.
R-Crypto encrypts data on virtual disks using the cryptographic infrastructure of the Microsoft Windows operating system. This infrastructure allows the users to use various installable cryptographic service providers, including those that are already pre-installed. For example, Microsoft AES Cryptographic Provider is one of the pre-installed cryptographic service providers in Windows XP and Vista that implements the modern and most secure encryption algorithm Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with key length of 128, 192, and 256 bits.
Such approach allows the users to select themselves the cryptographic sub-system that satisfies their requirements. It also reduces limitations on the use of R-Crypto in organizations that require certification for such products to meet certain governmental or corporate standards.

Recover Disc is an easy-to-use program that helps you extract data from scratched, damaged, defective or incorrectly burned CD and DVD discs when regular software can't read them fully or partially. This tool extracts the intact portion of your data and tries to recover problem areas. You can either choose to recover selected files, or save an image of the whole disc.

The program works under Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista and supports all types of CD and DVD media with ISO or UDF file systems, including discs burned by video cameras and recorders.

Key Features

Recover data from incorrectly burned CD/DVD
Sometimes disc can appear to be unreadable because of problems that took place during the burning process. For example, the software or device could fail to finalize the last session on the disc or write the content only partially because of system crash or power outage.

The logical structure of such disc can be incorrect preventing regular software and devices from reading the content fully or partially. However, physically such disc can contain actual data that was supposed to be written to it. Such data (for example, video and audio streams) can be extracted with Recover Disc.

Support of discs burned with DVD video cameras and DVD recorders
Recover Disc can work with DVD media created by video cameras, DVD recorders and other standalone devices. It can help in case if the disc was damaged after burning and if it was burned incorrectly because of technical problems with the device.

Retrieve data from all sessions on multi-session discs
When you write files to a CD or DVD media you usually have two options. You can burn the whole disc at once or you can write data in several successive sessions. In the latter case you will create a multi-session disc. When you browse the content of such disc with regular software, you will usually see files from all sessions and they will not be divided by sessions anyhow.

However if a newer session contains a new version of a file that was also present in one of the previously burned sessions, you will only see the last version. The old one will physically remain on disc, but it will not be accessible.

Recover Disc can read resolve this problem. When it finds several versions of a file in different sessions, it lets you choose which version to extract. It also has an Expert View mode to browse full disc structure with all tracks and sessions. This way you can browse the content of each session separately.

Support of ISO and UDF file systems
Recover Disc supports any CD and DVD discs containing ISO and/or UDF file systems. UDF system is often used on discs created with “drag and drop” software that allows you to work with CD or DVD as with usual drive, i.e. copy and change files on it on the fly.

When Recover Disc detects several file systems on the same disc, it selects one automatically. If the information about disc content is partially lost in each file system, the program can merge the remaining data to find as much files as possible.

If you want to see the detailed disc structure, you can switch to the Expert View mode. In that mode you can browse each file system separately. This is useful if different file systems on the disc actually reference different sets of files.

Merge partial data recovered in different environments
If some disc appears to be fully or partially unreadable on your computer, you can try to read it on another system or with different CD/DVD reading device. This may be useful because there is some very small mechanical difference between various reading devices.

Some physical parameters, such as temperature, may also vary during successive reading attempts. So, as a result you may find out that different areas of the disc require different environments to read them properly. However usually you do not have an option to read the first part of a file on one device and second part of the same file on another one.

Recover Disc provides such possibility. When you extract a file from a disc and some problem areas can not be properly read, the corresponding places in the file are left blank. When you later try to extract same file, the program will read only the part that was not extracted before and merge it with the previously extracted data. This will also work if you need to save an image of the full disc or a track.

Finally, if there is one scratch on the disc that makes only a few sectors unreadable, you can try to polish it, but before doing that you should extract all the other data to avoid damaging it.
